Achievements
- The influence of strong electric field on critical mixing temperature was investigated and a theoretical model was developed. It was found that critical mixing temperature decreases in a strong electric field. It is consistent with observed anomaly of electric permittivity in the vicinity of critical point.
- Intraoperative probe for distinguishing healthy and cancer tissues of breast was developed. The probe currently is in the commercialization stage. The probe uses the difference in dielectric parameters of a healthy and cancer tissues to distinguish them. The device was patented and currently is in the commercialization stage.
- Cheap and effective materials for absorption of electromagnetic radiation were developed. The absorbers are based on clay minerals.
- Measuring system for non-linear dielectric effect was build.
- The influence of selected flavonoids on fibrillogenesis of polar proteins and peptides in presence of lipid membranes was investigated.
- The role of structural changes in lipid membranes in chemopreventive activity of phenothiazine compounds was specified.
- Formation of clathrate structures in mixtures of water and organic compounds was confirmed by acoustic techniques.
- The sound velocity measurements was applied for calculation of solvation number in organic liquids.
- It was developed a new method of polarized IR spectra study of thin layers of liquid crystals. A scheme of long axis orientation of molecule in relation to polarization vector was proposed.
