Achievements
For the first time crystal structures and photophysical properties of monocrystals of lanthanide complexes with acyclic polyaminopolyphosphonate ligands have been determined.
The obtained results have significantly contributed to the knowledge of the physicochemical properties of this class of compounds and may shed some light on the mechanisms of antitumor activity of lanthanide polyaminopolyphosphonates (QUADRAMET
® − the complex of
153Sm(III) with EDTMP has been used since 1997 for the pallation of pain from metastatic bone cancer).
